Do a 40 DAY SUGAR FAST with me!

Sources used for this blog post ------

Wendy's book that I am reading and I encourage you to get! It also is available via Audible so you can listen in the car, in the office, at the gym, or where ever you are!!

What Wendy's book is about ------

"The 40-Day Sugar Fast is a spiritual journey to having a healthier relationship with food. With Biblical stories, personal anecdotes, and mini-sermons, it shows how putting a distance between yourself and sugar can lead you closer to God."

A helpful article to understand what the physical benefits are incase you just still aren't convinced:

Snippets from the article:

Increased energy - "Sugary foods are famous for providing a “high,” or hyper feeling that the brain translates as high energy. This is not actually the case however, since sugar highs usually end in hard “sugar crashes,” depleting energy and replacing it will lethargy and sluggishness."

Enhanced Mood, Mental Clarity, Focus, and Health - "Sugar only aids in greater mood imbalances, stress, poor eating habits, and feelings of tiredness"

Reduced Inflammation - "inflammation often leads to chronic pain, headaches, and food allergies"

Spiritual benefits of a 40 day fast ------

More energy - most likely means the ability to start your day earlier and that is always a good feeling knowing you have a whole day full of opportunity ahead. This also means you have extra time to spend in the word or in prayer before you jump into the hustle and bustle of your day.

Enhanced Mood - When we are in a good mood we feel more motivated to show gratitude and be kinder to people which God wants from us all the time

Mental clarity/Focus - Having a more clear mind and having less brain fog allows us to read, hear, and experience the word with more understanding and we may even look at verses we've already heard before with a new perspective. Having better focus will allow us to have a greater focus on God as we should.

Health - Our bodies are sacred temples we are entrusted with to care for and God wants us to be healthy and to take care of our body

I will be coming back and editing this blog post every few days or so to hold myself accountable so if you want to follow along and join me you can! I encourage you to do it with me and share your experience by messaging me on instagram @cheyanalexa :)))
